The Doctoral School is pleased to announced its four听annual competitions running this spring. Entrants can participate in as many of the competitions as they want; we hope that everyone will find something that appeals to them.听
The prize pool remains unchanged for each competition:
- First prize: 拢400听
- 拢100 for runners up
鈥� the number of runner up prizes will be decided based on the quality and number听of entries.
We are also pleased to announce that this听year 果冻影院 Student Funding Office will be offering two additional prizes of 1 x 拢400 and 1 x 拢100 for听entries from current recipients听of the following 果冻影院 scholarships:听果冻影院's Research Excellence Scholarship (RES), Research Opportunity Scholarships (ROS), Graduate Research Scholarship (GRS), Overseas Research Scholarship (ORS) or Cross Disciplinary Scholarship (GXD or RXD). Entries to any of four competitions have a chance to win these prizes.
All competitions have听a single prize-giving ceremony. This will take place at听the Researcher Showcase Day听on Wednesday 5 June 2024.听

Research Images as Art / Art Images as Research Competition
An annual competition open to all current 果冻影院 postgraduate researchers and staff, across disciplines. Entrants are invited to submit images associated with their research which have aesthetic appeal. The competition has been organised since听2001 and听has always been very听popular.

Research Poster Competition
This has been a long standing annual competition but we recently added cross-disciplinary categories to compete in. This year, we also want to make it clear that posters should not be re-used conference posters, but should be adjusted or created for a wider audience, i.e. an academic lay audience.

Blog/Vlog &听Podcast Competition
This competition aims to听recognise new forms of media that researchers have started using, especially to express their research ideas to the general public. Blog submissions can be research based or about something more personal or funny like a research 鈥榝ailure鈥�.

Data Visualisation Competition
The competition is organised to showcase sets of data in a creative way so that viewers can easily understand and absorb the data which are visually pleasing to the eye. This is in response to the increasing use of data visualisation techniques to illuminate research findings.
