Slave-owner and planter who returned to Britain to live at Hornby House, Melling Co. Lancaster, and husband of Agnes Murray (q.v.).

1. Will of David Murray of Melling Co. Lancaster [made in 1822] proved 14/01/1823. In the will David Murray identified himself as of Hornby House, Melling and as the owner of Bath estate in Westmoreland: he said he had 'some time ago' secured an annuity of £1000 p.a. to his wife Agnes on the estate and the enslaved people on it. He put his residuary estate in trust to further secure the £1000 p.a. for his wife Agnes, and subject to that to secure £700 p.a. to his son John.
