National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Blood and Transplant Research Units (BTRUs) are research partnerships between universities and NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT). BTRUs support the needs ofÌýÌýfor research to improve the supply of blood, blood products, stem cells and tissues and organs for transplantation.Ìý

The NIHR BTRU in Stem Cells and Immunotherapies was an inter-disciplinary partnership between ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº (¹û¶³Ó°Ôº), King's College London, Queen Mary University of London and NHS Blood and Transplant.Ìý

The aim of the unit was to optimise the selection of blood donors and to improveÌýhaematopoietic stem cell transplantation and immune therapies.

NIHR funding for the Blood and Transplant Research UnitÌýin Stem Cells and Immunotherapies at ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº ended on 31 July 2022.
