Institute Director: Professor Gerhardt Attard

The ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Cancer Institute is a £40 million investment in central London based at ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº (¹û¶³Ó°Ôº), one of the world’s top universities and a founding member of the Crick Institute. The Institute draws together over 400 scientists working together to develop world-class basic and translational cancer research.

Research departments

¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Cancer Institute is structured around five research departments that span our three Institute sites at ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº and the Royal Free Hospital:

Clinical and interdisciplinary networks

Through our associations with ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, the Institute has greater clinical links than any comparable centre in the UK and a significant impact on the delivery of clinical service to cancer patients. This concentration of excellence, access to patients and significant recent investment of cancer treatment and research infrastructure, makes ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº a global leader.

¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Cancer Institute exemplifies ¹û¶³Ó°Ôºâ€™s distinctive cross-disciplinary approach, bringing together varied disciplinary expertise and theoretical perspectives to advance our understanding of the complexities of cancer and the development of improved diagnostics and treatments.
