The fellowship allows Daryia to apply and enhance her abilities while working as a PGTA in the Healthcare Facilities MSc. Daryia highlighted the value of The ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Arena Programme's training and mentoring, and is eager to offer assistance to colleagues who are going on a similar journey.Ìý

The ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Arena Fellowship is an inclusive and flexible program offering various events and opportunities that aim to advance research-based education at ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº. These awards are granted based on a successful track record of teaching, supporting students' learning, or leading an aspect of education at ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº. The program is accredited by the Higher Education Academy (HEA), allowing ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº to confer awards related to teaching and leadership in higher education to its own staff.

PhD student Beatrice Mensimah Ossei- Gudom recognised for her commitment to excellence in project management

In celebration of the recent International Project Management Day, the Project Management Institute (PMI) Ghana Chapter represented by its President, Frank Owusu-Asamoah, has recognised BSSC PhD student Beatrice Mensimah Ossei- Gudom for her commitment to excellence in project management.Ìý

Beatrice was also part of the 2023 selected PMI global scholarship recipients, reflectingÌýherÌýdedication to upholding the highest standards of project management knowledge and practice, highlighting herÌýcommitment to continuous improvement and the advancement of the project management profession in her organisation and in the Ghanaian economy as a whole.Ìý

PhD student Taige Wang awarded the Long Term PhD Grant

BSSC PhD student Taige Wang has been awarded the Long Term PhD Grant from Major Projects Association (MPA). This award will enable Taige to closely connect his research with the industry to continuously explore the impact of BIM Uses on project management from an industry perspective. Taige intends to laverage the MPA platform to expand his network, gain industry experience, and encourage greater professional involvement inÌýhis research.

PhD student The Vinh Mai has been awarded a fellowship from the US-based Young Professionals In Infrastructure Organization (YPI).
The purpose of the YPI Fellowship Program is to provide graduate students with the opportunity to engage with professionals in the infrastructure sector to help further their academic research and allow them to communicate the product of their study and academic achievement in conferences and other academic and industry forums.

BSSC undergraduate students win awards for their outstanding academic performance

George Hake was awarded The Stace Prize. Anson Au was awarded the BSSC School Scholarship for Outstanding Second Year Student and Elaine Yeung was awarded the CIOB Certificate of Excellence.

BSSC students emerge top 5% in Hult Prize Competition


Hult Prize
MSc Digital Engineering Management students Fatima Hamdard, Adekunle Awodele and Mohammad Shoraka as a team called GELIM, were shortlisted to present their start-up idea at the 2022 Lisbon Hult Prize Summit.
Their proposed idea was then selected as top 5% from over 50,000 applicants.

BSSC student named finalist for Built Environment Undergraduate of the Year Award 2022

BSc Project Management for Construction Student, Ali Aljadri, has been shortlisted as a finalist for The Built Environment Undergraduate of the Year Award 2022.

AECOM, the award partner for Built Environment Undergraduate of the Year have announced Ali as one of their finalists for this year. Ali has been chosen out of 100’s of applicants that applied after completing an online application and psychometric tests and is the only nominee from ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº.Ìý

The Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction student, Renée Etokakpan has been awarded The Bartlett Faculty Medal Prize for 2020/21.

The award is made each year to one distinguished undergraduate student per faculty, in recognition of overall academic performance and how this has developed over the period of study; contributions to the programme of study and School and contributions to the wider ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº community.

Nahim Ahmed
MSc Strategic Management of Projects student and Youth and Community Engagement Manager at Poplar HARCA; Nahim Ahmed, was featured on ITV to discuss the issues that unfortunately exist in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.

NahimÌýhasÌýbeen recognised in the Queens Birthday Honours list and has beenÌýawardedÌýan MBE for his services to disadvantaged young people in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
