A review of the first five years of ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Grand Challenges will result in an expansion of its portfolio in 2016–17 to include Transformative Technologies and Justice & Equality.Ìý

The Grand Challenges programme provokes new and intense collaborations across the breadth of ¹û¶³Ó°Ôºâ€™s disciplines and stimulates productive interactions with policymakers, practitioners and community groups.

Ahead of theÌýCOP21ÌýIntergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in Paris in December 2015, ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Grand Challenges held a major event, in conjunction with the French Embassy, called Adapting to Climate Change. Films of the event can be seen on the Grand Challenges website.
