Free weekly workshops for students in Years 9, 10 and 11, who live and/or go to school in the London boroughs of Newham, Hackney, Tower Hamlets orÌýWaltham Forest.Ìý

¹û¶³Ó°Ôº East Writing and Talking Saturday Club isÌýa year-long programme of inspiring classes in various areas relating to writing, talking and communication. Beginning in November 2024, the Club offers you the opportunity to develop your writing and talking skills through a wide range of activities.

Delivered by ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº experts and academics and hosted in our new Marshgate building on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, this exciting new Club gives you the chance toÌýtry out writing poetry, combiningÌýwords and performance and have a go at scripting and filming a short documentary. Explore creative writing and theatrical play andÌýuse your imagination to respond to and produce texts, while learning how to think creatively, work with others and express ideas through words, sounds, performance and more.

Club members will also take part in national events, including masterclasses with leading industry professionals and the Summer Show, where Saturday Clubs nationwide exhibit their work in a public exhibition – all for free!

Dates and Times

The club runs 10:00-13:00 on Saturdays during term time. The club will start in the autumn term 2024 and run until July 2025. Full session dates will be confirmed in writing on acceptance to the Club.

Applications are open for students who will be in Year 9, 10 or 11 at the start of September 2024. You should also be living and/or going to school in the London boroughs of Newham, Hackney, Tower Hamlets orÌýWaltham Forest.
