Access & Widening Participation Student Ambassador Scheme

The Access and Widening Participation Office runs a Student Ambassador scheme to support with delivering a range of activities across the Office.

What does the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Access and Widening Participation Office do?

¹û¶³Ó°Ôº's Access and Widening Participation Office (AWPO) organises events and activities for young people from backgrounds that are underrepresented at university. We work with students from non-selective state schools and lower-income families. We also work with teachers, parents, and other supporters, and with specialist groups such as disabled students, care-experienced, estranged students, black students, mature students, and forced migrants.

What do AWPO Student Ambassadors do?

Our AWPO Student Ambassadors help deliver our activitiesÌýaimed at increasing the access and participation of underrepresented groups in higher education and giving greater insight into ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº's degree programmes and student life.

We have a broad range of activities and ambassadors are a central part of our delivery, where they talk about their experiences with young people, deliver presentations and represent the team and ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº at Higher Education fairs for example. For more information about this, please see our Access and Widening Participation webpages.

Applications for the AWPO Student Ambassador schemeÌýare currently closed. However, we expect to open applications on Monday 30th September 2024. In the meantime, if you are interested in working with us then please fill out this and we will be in touch when applications open.
