Postgraduate students on taught programmes received an email invitation to complete the PGS questionnaire online and may also haveÌýbeen contacted by SMS messages or telephone calls from Ipsos MORI.Ìý

Frequently asked questionsÌý

Which students are eligible for the Postgraduate Survey?Ìý

The survey was for taught postgraduate students in their final year of study. Students who were surveyed were expected to complete their programme between 1 November 2021 and 31 October 2022. This ensured that students beginning twelve-month courses in September 2021 on a full-time basis were included inÌýthe sample.Ìý

Taught postgraduate programmes include Master’s, PGCE, PGCert and PGDip programmes.ÌýÌý

Students on MRes programmes were not included in the survey.ÌýÌý

How will the results be used?ÌýÌý

Departments received programme-level results for programmes that receive at least 10 responses to the Postgraduate Survey. The 10-respondent threshold helps to protect confidentiality.ÌýÌý

Results will help to drive improvements in academic departments and support services across ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº. You can find examples of changes inspired by student feedback on the You Shaped ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº site.ÌýÌý

Results from the survey will not be published externally, but the Office for Students may compile general reports / comments on the landscape of postgraduate education based on the results.ÌýÌý
