  1. Too GoodÌýToÌýGoÌý–ÌýFood can be pretty expensive in London. By downloadingÌýtheÌý‘Too Good to Go’Ìýapp,Ìýyou can save money and reduce food wasteÌýby buying perfectly edible food that restaurantsÌýhave toÌýthrow out at the end of the day. Our own refectory has given away 500 meals so far!Ìý
  2. Ditch the DisposableÌý– Avoid ¹û¶³Ó°Ôºâ€™s 50p charge on single-use cups by bringing yourÌýown reusable cup.ÌýOnce you’ve mastered this, bringing in your own cutlery, water bottles and take-away boxes will be easy.ÌýÌý
  3. BeÌýPowered by PlantsÌý- Reduce your carbon footprint by reducing your meat consumption. We have a vegetarian option on every counter in the Refectory and a vegan stand.Ìý
  4. Make your voice heardÌý–ÌýApply to be part of the StudentÌýÌýto let us know what change you want to make at ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº. Outside of ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº, you can lobby your local MP (contact them atÌý).Ìý
  5. Start swishingÌý–Ìýwhether it’s at our monthly Swap Shop, or betweenÌýfriends, swapping clothes inÌýfavourÌýof fast fashion can reduce the 235 million items of clothes thrown out each Spring in the UK! Not to mention the vast amounts of water and chemicals used to make clothes, or the poor working conditions associated with their manufacture
  6. Check before you chuckÌý– We currently recycle 65% of our wasteÌýat ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº, theÌýrest is turned to energy. We want to reduce our waste and increaseÌýrecyclingÌýbut we need your help.   7. Plastic-free periodsÌý– Blue Planet 2 made everyone aware of the environmental damages of plastic – but what about periods?Ìý27,000 tampons endÌýup on our beaches every day.   8. Grow your ownÌý– Whether at ¹û¶³Ó°Ôºâ€™s student-led allotment, or on your windowsill, get growing! Be it a plant to lighten up your room, or someÌýchilliesÌýon the windowsill, there’s nothing more rewarding then tending your home grown.Ìý

  10. Connect with natureÌý–ÌýGet off thatÌýscreen, andÌýhave a break fromÌýwork! Go for a walk along Regents canal or enjoy ourÌýlusciousÌýgreen squares and gardens. TheÌýÌýorganiseÌýweekly bird walks. Take some time for yourself, for your health – and step outside.
