What I do
Hi, I鈥檓 Karthik. I am the Student Adviser for English, Greek and Latin, Hebrew and Jewish Studies, and Philosophy and听I听am here for you as a key point of contact during the first year of your undergraduate studies.听I am available to discuss any wellbeing, support, and student experience matters.

Working within Student Support and Wellbeing听Services, we听will be hosting a range of听events and activities听during term time听to support your Social bonding, Skills for life and Wellbeing at university. Find out a little bit more about your Student Advisers, how we can best support you during your time at university, and the exciting events we'll have on throughout the year.听
After your Student Advisers have听had the chance to say hello, you'll also have an opportunity to meet your new classmates. We appreciate starting university can be a nerve-wracking time, so there will be some activities and games to get you all socialising, so you can start the term off already knowing a few friendly faces!
This event is completely free, and a great way to ease your nerves and meet some new faces before you start your course. We can't wait to see you there!

Who am I?
- About Karthik
What was your experience of Further/Higher education like?听
I started my higher education experience like many as a student. I am an alum of University of Sheffield, a place where I developed听by听taking up many opportunities beyond my academics. I returned to university life at The University of Melbourne. This gave me听a听unique perspective of being an international student. Studying my masters听in听Development Studies opened up听my听world to new people and new understandings. I continued to make the most of university life by taking up volunteering and other extra curriculum activities. I hold my time at both universities fondly, as it truly provided an environment to explore and develop. Something I want all students at 果冻影院 to have.听
Professionally, I began听my higher education听experience with 果冻影院鈥檚 Alumni team. I worked for 2 years as an Alumni & Supporter Care Officer. It meant I was able to interact with alumni and students both remotely but also in person during many events.听This time really showed the profound impact the time at 果冻影院 has on our students.听
What do you like most about your work as a Student Adviser?
Being able to guide students听as they begin their university life. Seeing students discover and flourish due the opportunities and support we guide them towards is very rewarding. I also really like engaging with students and working to help them understand their new environment and community at 果冻影院.
What's a surprising or interesting fact about yourself?
I have flown a plane, driven a combine harvester, an听18-wheeler听truck, a speed boat听and the biggest chaser bin in the world (ask me what that is if you want a long story).
