I am the Student Adviser for Chemical Engineering, Security and Crime Science听& BSc Science and Engineering for Social Change.听I听am here for you as a key point of contact during the first year of your undergraduate studies.听I am available to discuss any wellbeing, support, and student experience matters.听

Events
Working within Student Support and Wellbeing听Services, we听will be hosting a range of events and activities听during term time听to support your Social bonding, Skills for life, and Wellbeing at university. Explore the workshops and activities you can join听throughout the academic year听listed below, then click the 'Book a space on an event' button to reserve your place.

Come along to meet me, your Student Adviser, and your new classmates in our friendly, online ice-breaker session!鈥�
Find out a little bit more about the Student Adviser听role, how I听can best support you during your first year at university, and the exciting events I'll have on throughout the year.鈥�
After I've had the chance to say hello, you'll also have an opportunity to meet your new classmates. I听appreciate starting university can be a nerve-wracking time, so there will be some activities and games to get you all socialising, so you can start the term off already knowing a few friendly faces!听
This event is completely free, and a great way to ease your nerves and meet some new faces before you start your course. We can't wait to see you there!听

Please听fill in the required details on the bookings page and make sure to click the 'Book'听button at the end of the page听to confirm your place. You will then receive a confirmation email with the link to the Teams meeting!听

Who am I?
- About Katie
What was your experience of Further/Higher education like?听
I studied Japanese and Management听at university in London, with a year abroad. It was an amazing experience, learning a different language and culture alongside developing practical skills in Business. At times, the workload could be quite intense and a little overwhelming, but it helped me learn how to prioritise and meet deadlines, which has been an invaluable skill throughout my career.听听
What do you like most about your work as a Student Adviser?
The aspect I find most fulfilling is creating meaningful connections with students, getting to know them and helping them to make the most of their university experiences. Guiding students whilst they navigate university life and being able to support them to develop as individuals and overcome challenges is incredibly rewarding!
What's a surprising or interesting fact about yourself?
It might surprise you to know that听I am听also听a salsa teacher!听
