CANCELLED: One-day workshop on 鈥淐orruption, Rent-Seeking Behaviour and Informal Practices in Institutional Contexts鈥� (London, 11 June 2020).

This one-day WINIR-sponsored workshop aims to bring together researchers from different disciplines to improve our theoretical, empirical and methodological understanding of different aspects of corruption, rent-seeking behaviours, and informal practices within different institutional contexts.

The deadline for the abstract submission is 1 April 2020. We welcome contributions from different academic disciplines (including, but not limited to, political science, economics, development studies, law, sociology, social psychology, and organisational studies), using different level of analysis (individuals, firms and organisations, sectors, regions, countries, etc.) and different methodologies and techniques (theoretical, empirical, qualitative, quantitative, comparative, etc.).

Specifically, we invite submission of papers from any relevant discipline addressing issues including but not limited to:

• 听听听 Corruption and institutional quality/context
• 听听听 Determinants and/or consequences of corruption
• 听听听 Citizens鈥� attitudes towards rent-seeking behaviour
• 听听听 Informal practices, formal and informal institutions
• 听听听 Informal practices and corruption
• 听听听 Informal networks, social norms, and corruption
• 听听听 Trust, corruption and institutions
• 听听听 Corruption, tax evasion, and tax morale
• 听听听 Definitions and concepts of corruption

The workshop will be held in London on 11 June 2020. It is organised by the Institute of International Management (Loughborough University London), The Centre for Political Economy and Institutional Studies (CPEIS 鈥� Birkbeck university of London) and the Centre for Comparative Studies for Emerging Economies (果冻影院, London).
