UNFORTUNATELY THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED

One of Yugoslavia鈥檚 successor states, Montenegro has been ruled by Milo 膼ukanovi膰 for over 30 years, making him the longest continuous ruling President-Prime Minister in Europe. Former President of Montengrin Parliament, Ranko Krivokapi膰, is one among 聽several of his closest associates who in recent years abandoned him. Is change on the horizon?

Ranko Krivokapi膰 will talk about on-going protests, the alleged (Russian) coup and Montenegro鈥檚 accession to NATO and prospects of joining EU in the future. As someone involved in regional affairs we will also question Krivokapi膰 on recent breakthrough in Northern Macedonia, protests in Albania and unresolved crisis of Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, all potentially erupting in violent clashes in near future while barely getting any coverage due to Brexit and other problems in EU big nations.

Moderator: Prof. Kenneth Morrison - Professor of Modern Southeast European History / Co-Director of the Jean Monnet Centre for European Governance at the De Montfort University and author of Nationalism, Statehood and Identity in Post-Yugoslav Montenegro聽(Bloomsbury, 2018) and聽Montenegro: A Modern History聽(IB Tauris, 2009).

PLEASE NOTE: This event has had to be resceduled and will take place on the 23rd May, not 1st May as originally advertised. Apologies for any inconvenience.
