SLOVO Journal which is edited and managed by postgraduate students at the School of Slavonic and East European Studies, 果冻影院 is pleased to invite you to the event dedicated to Georgia on which Nutsa Batiashvili, Associate Professor of Anthropology from Free University of Tbilisi will give a talk about her book 鈥淭he Bivocal Nation: Memory and Identity on the Edge of Empire" (2018, Palgrave Macmillan). "The Bivocal Nation" is an ethnography of memory-making in a conflict-ridden, ideologically fragmented, socio-politically uncertain and transforming society that has just come out of the imperial domain. Its principal purpose is to explain division and polarization and offer a new constellation of conceptual terms for understanding modern forms of nationalism in the marginal landscapes of the world.

After the lecture, Georgian traditional food will be provided.

The event is free and open to everyone. However, please, take into consideration that the seats in the auditorium are limited. For registration follow the link
