Jantar Publishing will be launching two books by Daniel Hodrova. The first,听A Kingdom of Souls (Podoboji)听is being published for the first time in English and translated by Veronique Firkusny and Elena Sokol.听

The second, a new and updated edition of听Prague. I see a city...听was translated by David Short.听 It is currently being considered by BBC Radio 4 for broadcast as 'Book at Bedtime'.听听

A Kingdom of Souls [Podoboji]听is described by Elena Sokol in her introduction: 鈥淭hrough playful poetic prose, imaginatively blending historical and cultural motifs with autobiographical moments, Daniela Hodrova shares her unique perception of Prague. A Kingdom of Souls is the first volume of this author鈥檚 literary journey 鈥� an unusual quest for self, for one鈥檚 place in life and in the world, a world that for Hodrova is embodied in Prague.鈥澨�

Translators Veronique Firkusny and Elena Sokol will discuss the works with Peter Zusi (果冻影院 SSEES) at the launch.听听
