Warning, resilience and finance

Planning for and managing disasters and humanitarian crises through warning systems, resilience management, shelter and housing, disaster risk finance, micro-finance.

We investigate how to plan for and manage hazards and disasters through warning systems, alert solutions, shelter and housing, resilience management, supply chain management, and financial tools. ÌýThe research and solutions integrate learning across academic disciplines, across tiers of government and practitioners, and are sensitive to inclusivity and accessibility concerns. We consider these on a range of scales from the individual up to international organisations. Our work includes organisational resilience and business continuity, financial solutions including microfinance, insurance, and creating frameworks for integrated risk management. We work closely with industry partners, NGOs and international organisations and provide independent evaluation of external projects.
