Sociology has a significant presence and reach across 果冻影院 through teaching, research and PhD supervision. 听There are sociologists in every 果冻影院 faculty with expertise in a wide range of thematic and geographic specialisms. 果冻影院 has a substantial methodological community which uses sociological thinking to inform the use and development of approaches to research using qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods.听听
果冻影院 Sociology Network (USN) is a creative space and intellectual home for sociological staff and doctoral students across 果冻影院.听听Taking a broad and inclusive definition of sociology, the network seeks to connect sociologists to share and generate synergies across the field, to celebrate the work of 果冻影院 sociologists, and to ensure the discipline鈥檚 visibility within and beyond 果冻影院 to researchers, funders, prospective doctoral students and the public.听 In addition, 果冻影院 has strong links with the , and the .听 USN听is run by and for its members, and as such will evolve to suit their needs.

The network was relaunched in 2022 as a strand of activity within 果冻影院's Collaborative Social Science听Domain.听 It was originally established in 2009, Chaired by Professor (2009-13) and later by Professor (2013 -21)
