Faculty staff receive ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Arena Fellowships

Nine faculty staff were recognised by the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Arena Centre for Research-Based Education, receiving Arena Fellowship awards for their outstanding teaching and learning contribution they have made to our community.

The awards celebrate the achievements of experienced staff through the opportunity to gain both a ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Arena Fellowship and the corresponding HEA Fellowship.

From the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Arena Fellowship panels in July 2023 the following Population Health Sciences Faculty staff were successful:

Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA)

  • Asma Naseem, Institute of Child Health

Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA)

  • Emmanouil Bagkeris, Institute of Child Health
  • Preethi John, Global Business School for Health
  • Fred Thomas, Institute of Epidemiology & Health
  • Xavier Vinals Gonzalez, Institute of Womens Health

Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA)

  • Dipesh Patel, Institute of Child Health

¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Arena runs four award panels throughout the academic year and has a large number of applicants from across ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº at all levels of fellowship.

Professor Ibrahim Abubakar, Dean of the Faculty of Population Health Sciences, said: "I would like to congratulate all the recent awardees in our faculty. The Arena fellowship award at all levels is a recognition of your invaluable contributions to education and learning at ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº through an accredited system. I am grateful for your dedication to advancing teaching and learning support at ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº".
