Biography

I am a Lecturer in International Relations and International Public PolicyÌýin the ¹û¶³Ó°ÔºÌýDepartment of Political Science.

Research

I have published on a wide range of topics analysing the international politics of the post-Ottoman world and international relations theories, including debates on security, identity and foreign policy; a focus on narrative and critical approaches also characterises myÌýwork. My research has been featured in both peer-reviewed journals and policy reports,Ìýincluding for the World Bank and the UK’s House of Lords.

Teaching

I lead the ‘Theories of International Politics’ module and contribute to teaching on ‘Political Violence’.

I am interested in supervising PhD students wanting to research the politics of the post-Ottoman world (the Balkans, the Middle East and North Africa), as well asÌýbroader developments in the Muslim world.ÌýI am also open to those interested in critical approaches to political science, especially language/narrative/discourse approaches.
