The Basit Research Group, based at ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº School of Pharmacy, and FABRX, a spin-out from the group, have been featured on NASA’s website following their visit to the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº School of Pharmacy in July. The visiting delegation, consisting of NASA’s Chief Health and Medical Officer DrÌýJames D. Polk and Agency Manager of the Health and Medical Technical Authority DrÌýNeal Zapp, were impressed by the group’s consistent contributions to the field of 3D printing of personalised pharmaceuticals and shared their visions of 3D printing in space to advance both general research and maintain the health of agents whilst on space missions.

A delegation from the group will be joining DrÌýPolk, Dr Zapp and their colleagues at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, USA, in September to further discuss implications and possibilities for 3D printing of medicines in space.
