Mine Orlu, Abdul Basit, and European partners awarded 3.5 million Euros

Dr Mine Orlu and Prof Abdul Basit, along with European academic and industrial partners, to lead research project for 'Boosting advanced doctoral training in innovative colon targeting drug' funded by the European Comission.

The European Comission has recently announced that it will support 147 Innovative Training Networks under the Maria Sk艂owdowska-Curie Action. Projects chosen were granted with the basis of contribution to increasing the quality and doctoral training in Europe and beyond.听

Dr Mine Orlu and Prof Abdul Basit from the 果冻影院 School of Pharmacy, along with academic and industrial partners from KU Leuven, University College Cork, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Uppsala University, University of Parma, University of Copenhagen, AstraZeneca, Jansen Pharmaceutica, Seps Pharma have been awarded 3.5 million Euros for the advancement of colonic drug delivery.听

The COLOTAN project will provide funding for research at the 果冻影院 School of Pharmacy bringing forth strong collaborations with leading European Institutes. Dr Mine Orlu and Prof Abdul Basit state that 鈥淲e are excited to have had this proposal granted and to work with excellent teams across Europe with the aim to deliver better medicines for patients.鈥
