Our research
We're currently running a study investigating emotional processing in young people aged 11 to 18. We want to better understand how emotional processing relates to mental health and wellbeing over time, as well as how it relates to individual responsiveness to interventions.ÌýÂ
How we interpret, process and respond to emotional information in our everyday environments plays a key role in our interactions with others, our decisions, and in some cases, our mental health and wellbeing. Developmental differences in emotion processing mechanisms can predispose young people to a greater risk of common mental health difficulties like anxiety and depression.Ìý
By better understanding how individual differences in emotion processing relate to young people’s mental health, wellbeing, and treatment outcomes, this study will contribute to the development of more effective interventions for children and young people’s mental health.Ìý
