29 May 2020

¹û¶³Ó°Ôº staff who have a healthcare role – for example as a member of staff at one of our partner hospitals – are invited to take part in a ¹û¶³Ó°ÔºH trial of the Covid-19 vaccine developed at the University of Oxford. The study is particularly looking for volunteers aged 56 and above.

The study aims to find a safe vaccine that can be used to create immune responses against the virus and thus prevent the disease.

Recruitment is aimed at all healthcare staff – clinical and non-clinical – except those whose work is office-based. Priority will be given to staff who have continued to travel into work during the lockdown.

Given the rapid pace of the trial, volunteers need to register interest urgently – you can find out more and apply on the.

Places are limited – the study will recruit a maximum of 500 healthcare workers in total – and recruitment is on a first come first served basis.

¹û¶³Ó°ÔºH is recruiting all ages over 18, but recruitment is currently focused on two age groups: those aged 56-69 and those who are 70 and above.ÌýThe trial website run by Oxford currently only mentions the 18 to 55 group – butÌýyou can also apply if you are 56 or over.

On the ¹û¶³Ó°ÔºH trial page, volunteers should click on the ‘Pre-Screening Questionnaire’ button and complete the online form.
