Professor Ibrahim Abubakar appointed Pro-Provost (Health) at 果冻影院

Professor Ibrahim Abubakar, Dean of the Faculty of Population Health Sciences, has been announced as 果冻影院鈥檚 first Pro-Provost (Health). He takes up the 0.2FTE appointment alongside his current position as Dean.

As Pro-Provost (Health), Professor Abubakar provides additional senior academic leadership for 果冻影院鈥檚 work with its health partners, becoming the senior point of connection for 果冻影院鈥檚 wide range of health partners, in coordination with our Faculties. He will also lead the development of 果冻影院鈥檚 health strategy, provide leadership to the Health Partnership team, and advise UMC on our relationship with the wider health system.

Professor Abubakar, a world leading scholar in the field of infectious disease epidemiology, joined 果冻影院 in 2012 as Professor of Infectious Disease Epidemiology, and became Director of the Institute of Global Health in 2016. He has also served as Vice-Dean (International and External Engagement) for the Faculty of Population Health Sciences before becoming Dean in 2021.
