¹û¶³Ó°Ôº students

We’re in the middle of a community-wide consultationÌýto develop ¹û¶³Ó°Ôºâ€™s new Strategic Plan for the next five years. Whatever your level of study, if you’re a ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº student we want your help!

In Term One, we asked you for your views on what kind of university we are right now and what we should aspire to be. In student submissions and workshops held this term, some students have said:

  • Education and/or excellence should be added as values of ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº;
  • There should be more opportunities for collaboration, both with staff and other students, outside of the formal curriculum;
  • There should be more innovation within the formal curriculum;
  • ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº needs to exemplify their values in everything it does.

This term, we’re asking where we should focus our effort and investmentÌýso that we can make a greater positive impact on the world through our research and education. Please share your ideas, from what your education might look like and how we could improve campus, to how we can work with the wider world.Ìý

To drive the conversation, we’re publishing a series of discussion papers.and find out more about (¹û¶³Ó°Ôº email required).

  • Evolving the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Grand Challenges (published 10 January) proposes that ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº should address specific urgent global issues by creating targeted multi-disciplinary programmes of activity. Ìý
  • Academic opportunities for targeted investment (published 10 January) considers where we might prioritise major capital or other investment to support academic disciplines.Ìý

There are lots of ways you can get involved and share your thoughts on the future of ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº:

  • Join a Town HallÌýor workshop, where you will be guided through the papers and asked for your opinions;
  • Share your views with us using the online forms on the .
  • If you have any further ideas of how you want to be involved in this process, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
