Doing your part to stop the spread of COVID-19

When you’re on campus there are a number of things you can do to stop the spread of COVID-19 and better protect yourself and others from the virus.

Coronavirus

A ‘multi-layered’ approach is the best defence against COVID-19. The video below explains how a combination of measures is the most effective way to keep the virus at bay.

By taking these steps, you create multiple lines of defence against the virus, making it harder for it to enter the community and ultimately reducing the chances of COVID-19 spreading.

You can find extensive guidance available for staff and students on ourÌýCoronavirus Information pages. You can play your part by:

  • Getting vaccinated for COVID-19, if youÌýcan;Ìý
  • Being thoughtful and wearing aÌýface coveringÌýwhilst indoors, unless you’reÌýexempt;
  • Staying at home if you feel at allÌýunwell;Ìý
  • Self-isolating andÌýif you have coronavirusÌýsymptoms;
  • Getting tested twice weeklvÌýwith a rapid Lateral Flow Test (LFT) if you don’t have symptoms and reporting your results to the NHS and ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Connect toÌýProtect;
  • Being considerate of those around you, especially if they’re wearingÌýaÌý‘Please Give Me Space’ lanyard or badge; and
  • Washing or sanitising your hands frequently throughout the day.Ìý
