Book onto our Prevent Duty workshops

All staff in student-facing roles are required to be trained on ¹û¶³Ó°Ôºâ€™s procedures and policies surrounding the Prevent duty. Book onto an upcoming training session via HR’s booking system.

¹û¶³Ó°Ôº has arranged for a Prevent duty workshop to be delivered by ¹û¶³Ó°Ôºâ€™s designated Prevent Coordinator, Chris Rowell, at the Department for Education.Ìý

Why is ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº delivering training on Prevent?Ìý

Government guidance requires that universities have policies in place for events with external speakers, welfare and pastoral care, IT usage and deliver training to support staff. The Office for Students (OfS) monitors compliance around delivering the Prevent Duty.Ìý

What is ¹û¶³Ó°Ôºâ€™s approach to Prevent?

¹û¶³Ó°Ôºâ€™s approach to Prevent focuses on the welfare of our students and staff. One of our present tasks is to train staff on processes related to Prevent, such as safeguarding vulnerable individuals and procedures for events with external speakers.
