A further seven听subjects are ranked in the world top 10: archaeology (3^rd), anatomy & physiology (5th), anthropology (5^th), pharmacy & pharmacology (7^th), geography (7^th), medicine (9^th) and psychology (10^th).

Other subjects have seen big rises in this year鈥檚 rankings include philosophy (20^th), sports-related subjects (21^st), art & design (36^th), chemistry (30^th), environmental sciences (37^th), computer science (23^rd) and earth & marine sciences (27^th ).

The university features amongst the world鈥檚 leading institutions in 39 of the 48 subjects included in this year's rankings. In the 39 subjects in which 果冻影院 is active:

• 果冻影院 is in the top 50 for 31 subjects
• 10 subjects are in the top 10
• A total of 20 subjects have improved their position globally on the previous year

The QS World University Rankings, which rank universities overall, rather than at subject level, will be published later this year. In 2018, these rankings placed 果冻影院 7th in the world.

To produce the rankings for this year, QS analysed over 22 million papers, producing close to 200 million citations. 1,222 institutions have been ranked across 48 subjects in 5 broad subject areas.

UK universities occupy thirteen number-one ranks in the latest edition of the world鈥檚 most-consulted university rankings portfolio, an increase of three on the previous year.

The 2019 edition also records an improvement in UK research performance. In 2015鈥檚 edition of the rankings, the United States was home to 45.3% of top research departments 鈥� those achieving one of the top 100 scores for their subject in QS鈥檚 Citations per Paper indicator; the United Kingdom was home to 12.5% of top research departments. In this year鈥檚 edition, the UK鈥檚 share of top research departments has risen to 13.7%, while the US鈥檚 share has dropped to 41.2%.

Ben Sowter, Director of Research at QS, said: 鈥淔or those anxious about the fortunes of the UK鈥檚 world-leading higher education sector, this year鈥檚 rankings will provide some reassurance that the sector鈥檚 performance remains highly competitive, and that students and faculty alike are contributing to world-class universities across a range of disciplines.

鈥淗owever, the research data used to compile this edition was collected between 2013 and 2018, and the impact that our imminent exit from the European Union will have on UK performance is still unknown.鈥�
