Your Universe 2016

Join us in the South Cloisters for ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº's annual celebration of all things astronomical! The 11th Your Universe Festival of Astronomy and Particle Physics will run from Thursday 10 to Saturday 12 March, featuring talks, exhibitions and demonstrations.

Seeing in the dark: Finding hidden objects in the universe
Thursday 10ÌýMarch, 7pm

Dr Sarah Hutton (¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Physics & Astronomy) will talk about using different wavelengths of light to observe the universe, and what this can reveal about the cosmos.

Think Universe! Why bring 'big' science into elementary education?
Friday 11ÌýMarch, 7pm

Dr Francisco Diego (¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Physics & Astronomy) will speak about the 'Think Universe!' project, an integrated science course taught to school pupils aged 9-12.

Public discussion and panel: Life in the universe
Saturday 12ÌýMarch, 5pm ()

Join our expert panel to discuss questions such as: how did life arise on Earth? Could there be aliens on planets beyond our Solar System? Might humans one day move to Mars?
