As you may know, I personally supported the campaign to remain in the European Union. However, I respect the views of both Remain and Leave voters and I also respect democracy and its role in the long-term social cohesion of our country, even when it throws up outcomes that I dislike. I am confident that this respect is shared throughout ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº and that we will all work together to ensure ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº remains a place where all people feel safe and supported in their work and study.

¹û¶³Ó°Ôº is hugely diverse, with staff and students of many cultures, ethnicities and beliefs; our staff come from 120 countries around the world and students from more than 150 countries. With this in mind, I've been concerned to hear of an increase in racist incidents in the UK and the potential impact this may have on members of our ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº community. Sadiq Khan, the new Mayor, has said that London should be a city where there is 'no tolerance of intolerance'. I completely agree with him.

I'd like to reassure staff and students that we absolutely will not tolerate racist and xenophobic incidents arising from within our own community. We will also support staff and students who are experiencing racism and xenophobia outside of ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº. The resources below are at your disposal if you would like further help and advice.
