It is very common for families to speak several languages including their mother language and English language, among others. Parents play a critical role in the language development of their children and, therefore, this session is of direct relevance to them.Ìý

The aim of this talk is to provide information about linguistic and cognitive aspects of bilingualism. Dr Argyri is a mother of two and has personal experience of bilingualism. She will discuss language development of bilingual children, factors affecting bilingual language acquisition, the role of age of onset and the amount ofÌýexposure to each language, etc. She will also share useful tips/suggestions with parents to develop their children's language skills.
