EU referendum: Implications for employees from EU/EEA countries

Following the UK referendum vote to leave the European Union, ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº President & Provost, Professor Michael Arthur earlier this week sent a personalised letter to all employees who are recorded on the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº HR system as non-UK EU/EEA nationals.

If you are a non-UK EU/EEA national and have not received a letter from the Provost, this may be due to your nationality not being recorded on the system. In this instance, please email eustaffqueries@ucl.ac.uk to ensure your details are updated and that a copy of the letter is sent to you as soon as possible. The template letter is also available here.

We have developed a webpage, which includes Questions and Answers for employees about the impact of the referendum.Ìý This can be accessed at .

We have also set up a helpline for employees who may have additional questions related to the referendum result: eustaffqueries@ucl.ac.uk We will endeavour to respond to the more straightforward questions within two working days of receipt and have engaged specialist immigration advice to assist where necessary. We will also be running some group clinics for EU staff shortly, where general questions relating to Brexit-related immigration issues can be raised with specialist immigration lawyers engaged by ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº.

On Tuesday 12 July, a panel of ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº's senior leaders took questions from EU staff and students on what Brexit may mean for ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº staff, students and research, and talked about the next steps that ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº may pursue. It can be viewed here:
