¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Honorary Degrees and Honorary Fellowships in 2016: nominations open
3 July 2015
¹û¶³Ó°Ôº students are invited to submit their nominations for the 2016 ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Honorary Degrees and Honorary Fellowships.
Organisers are asking nominators to review the proposed
revised criteria for these awards.
The criteria incorporate amendments that have
been proposed by the Honorary Degrees and Fellowships Committee.
These changes are aimed clarifying the distinction between Honorary Degrees and Honorary Fellowships for future conferrals of these awards and increasing the diversity of nominations through the extension of nomination rights to all members of the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº community.Ìý Ìý
It is expected that recipients of ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Honorary Degrees
and Honorary Fellowships will normally have, or have had, a close association
with ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº, although for recipients of Honorary Degrees, this requirement may be
balanced in certain cases by scholarly or intellectual excellence that is
linked to ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº's ethos and values.Ìý
In keeping with ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº's commitment to equality and diversity, the Honorary Degrees and Fellowships Committee would wish to invite members of the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº community to give particular consideration to women and black and minority ethnic candidates for these awards. Ìý
Nomination forms are available to download online, and should be completed and returned to Nick McGhee (n.mcghee@ucl.ac.uk) in Academic Services by no later than 30 September 2015.
