¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Global Citizenship Programme: registration opens on 20 February

19 February 2015

What is the Global Citizenship Programme? The ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Global Citizenship Programme is a special feature of the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº undergraduate year; for two weeks after summer exams have finished, we provide a range of opportunities to help ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº students boost their studies, enhance their future and make an impact on the world.

Global citizenship students

In each year of the Programme, students will follow different journeys - academic courses in the first year, and practical, real-world projects in enterprise, employability and the voluntary sector in the second and final years.

Each part of the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Global Citizenship Programme complements students' formal education, and helps prepare them for the world beyond graduation.

How you can get involved

  • Global Citizenship 'Champions'

We aim to have a member of staff in each department acting as a 'champion' for the Global Citizenship Programme and the wider global citizenship agenda more generally.

If you are not sure who the Champion is in your department, or would like to volunteer, please get in touch.

  • Embed global citizenship within your teaching

Education for global citizenship at ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº is not limited to the two-week undergraduate programme that we offer. Staff across ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº already offer modules and programmes that explore questions of responsibility and citizenship within disciplinary frameworks and boundaries, and we are always keen to expand the range of such courses on offer.

Dr Tim Beasley-Murray (Academic Director: Global Citizenship) is available to discuss such ideas further with staff at any level (globalcitizenshipprogramme@ucl.ac.uk).

Professor Anthony Smith

Vice-Provost (Education and Student Affairs)
