¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Bloomsbury Masterplan: Cruciform Hub to open in Spring 2014

22 March 2013

The Cruciform Hub will open in Spring 2014 with fantastic teaching and learning spaces including an innovative library and computer cluster.

Cruciform Hub

Located at the heart of the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Medical School in Bloomsbury, in the lower ground floor of the Cruciform building, the Hub will be easily accessible for ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº students and staff, as well as NHS staff working at ¹û¶³Ó°ÔºH. A striking new staircase, designed by Burwell Deakins Architects, will lead users directly from the entrance foyer to the Hub.

Two exhibition walls in the Hub will showcase some of ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Museums & Collections medical artefacts together with medical illustrations and documents from ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Special Collections.

To accommodate the building work, the Cruciform Library, computer cluster and adjacent seminar rooms will move out temporarily from the Cruciform building in June 2013. The library will be based in the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Science Library; seminar rooms and computer cluster space will be provided across the Bloomsbury campus.

¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Estates are working to keep disruption to a minimum and will continue to work with architects and contractors to ensure that this project runs smoothly.
