¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Applicant Portal now supports Tier 4 visa process and is open to all applicants

7 June 2012

¹û¶³Ó°Ôº's Applicant Portal has been enhanced to support the Tier 4 Visa process for students and provide online communication with UCAS applicants as well as those who apply direct to ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº.

This year all applicants (undergraduate, postgraduate taught, and research) requiring a Tier 4 Visa will be asked to confirm their visa related details online, using ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº's Applicant Portal, prior to ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº submitting a request to the UK Border Agency (UKBA). They will also visit the portal to collect their CAS number (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies), which they require in order to submit their visa application.

These changes will provide greater transparency of the process and improve the opportunities for applicants to get it right the first time. Although applicants are responsible for ensuring the data they provide to us is correct, ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº are monitored on the number of CAS requests that are rejected due to inconsistent information and we aim to maintain and improve on our high standard in support of the applicants.

At each stage of the process, applicants will receive emails explaining what they must do next and providing a links to the portal. Admissions officers in Central Admissions and Faculties are able to track progress and send reminders.

In addition, links to useful information such as a description of the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº application process, fees and funding, accommodation, FAQs and more, have been added and are context specific so that they show information relevant to the applicant and the programme of study to which they are applying.

For the first time, UCAS applicants will be invited to register and use the Applicant Portal. Besides the Tier 4 Visa process, we hope that UCAS applicants will find the additional information on the portal helpful and easy to access.
