There are a number of new and updated central communications channels currently used by ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº.

Communications

¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Communications & Marketing has produced this quick summary to help staff understand some of the key channels, many of which are brought together on the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº News homepage.

The Week@¹û¶³Ó°Ôº

The Week@¹û¶³Ó°Ôº, the weekly e-newsletter for all staff at ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº was established in May 2011. In it you'll find key internal announcements and information, news and events. See previous issues on the Staff News page. The section of the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº website also highlights news relevant to staff.

¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Insights

This pilot fortnightly e-newsletter is aimed at key opinion formers such as MPs and senior figures in funding bodies. It aims to highlight the wide range of ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº research and its impact on society and implications for policy. Example issues and subscription details can be found on the Insights website. Due to the nature of its distribution list, there is a fairly rigid structure for what can appear in ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Insights, but suggestions are welcome.

Social media

  • Our feed (@uclnews) currently has more than 6,300 followers.
  • Our official page has more than 5,300 'likes'.
  • Our dedicated YouTube channel showcases videos about our research and teaching. It currently has almost 2,000 subscribers and more than 600,000 total upload views. Videos are also cross-promoted on other communications channels.
  • has become one of the top channels on the audio-sharing website with nearly 44,000 followers. We host a variety of audio tracks from news podcasts to Lunch Hour Lectures and the Enterprise lecture series. You can also download and watch interviews, lectures and other ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº content from ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº on .
  • Photos from across the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº community, including those from events and exhibitions as well as research images, populate our .

Events calendar and Events blog

The promotes public events happening around ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº - and the content is also entered into the public events leaflet Brain Food. The hosts content produced by the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº community reviewing a range of events.

¹û¶³Ó°Ôº in the media

Links to major external news coverage are added to the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº in the media feed. These are then cross-promoted on other channels and remain in an online archive.

Research and enterprise activity are promoted on the section of the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº website.
