In response to the Christchurch earthquake, a seminar 'Understanding Earthquakes' will be held on Wednesday 2 March, 5-6pm in the Wilkins Gustave Tuck Lecture Theatre.
A panel of experts from across 果冻影院 and Imperial will discuss the current knowledge of earthquake activity including probabilistic seismic hazard, damage estimation and reconstruction.听
The speakers will be:
- Damian Grant (EPICentre, 果冻影院 Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering)
- Anna Mason (EngD Student in 果冻影院 Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering)
- Peter Stafford (Civil Engineering, Imperial)
- Gerald Roberts (Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Birkbeck, part of the Joint Research School for Earth Sciences, Birkbeck/果冻影院).
Entry is by donation with all proceeds going to the British Red Cross NZ Earthquake Appeal. A reception after the seminar has been sponsored by .
