  • Semir Zeki, ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Professor of Neuroesthetics, will give a public lecture on Monday 6 July entitled: 'The Objectivity of Subjective Truths'.

The talk will address the changing concepts of 'truth' in the light of brain imaging experiments. It will address questions such as whether beauty and the intensity of love can ever be objectively measured and will conclude - contrary to popular belief - that the only verifiable truths are actually the subjective ones, not those that can be objectively determined.

The lecture will take place 6:30-7.30pm in the Main Lecture Theatre in the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Law Faculty at Bentham House, Endsleigh Gardens, London WC1H 0EG. All are welcome.

The lecture forms part of 'Law & Neuroscience', the fourteenth annual current legal issues interdisciplinary colloquium, held at ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº 6-7 July 2009.
