On 15 January 2009, Professor CJ Lim (¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Pro-Provost for North America) hosted a drinks reception for ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº students from the region's three countries: Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

¹û¶³Ó°Ôº faculties and disciplines at all levels of studies were represented at the event held in the Old Refectory. Those present were especially delighted to have the opportunity to meet fellow students from the other countries within the region.

Among the special guests were: Mr Brendan Griggs, the Head of Cultural & Academic Programmes at the Canadian High Commission; Ms Aida Velasco Perez, Director of Science and Education at the Embassy of Mexico; Professor Malcolm Grant (¹û¶³Ó°Ôº President and Provost); and Professor Michael Worton (¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Vice Provost, Academic and International), who were all on hand specifically to find out directly from the students themselves about their motivation for coming to ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº, their experiences of study here, and their future plans.

Currently studying at ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº are 664 Americans,118 Canadians and 49 Mexicans.
