¹û¶³Ó°Ôº

The awards, funded by Abbey, aim to foster the notion of ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº as a community and to highlight, celebrate and reward outstanding achievement or endeavour by current ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº students in a non-academic field. Activities might be in areas such as sport, music, theatre, fundraising, volunteering or mentoring.Ìý If you know a ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº student who has shown outstanding achievement or endeavour in a non-academic field relating to ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº as a community, please consider nominating them.

Up to ten awards are available in total and nominees must be current (2008/09) ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº students, enrolled for study or research at any level.

Each award consists of a donation of £1,000 on behalf of the selected student(s) to a single organisation of the award holder's choice. There only restrictions on the organisations to which the award may be donated is that they must not be party political, and awards may not be donated to an individual.

A condition of acceptance of the award is that successful nominees will cooperate in any reasonable publicity activity which ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº or Abbey may wish to attach to the award.

Candidates may be nominated by ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº students or staff by submitting a '1 ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº' nomination form.

A selection panel consisting of ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº staff, a Student Union member, and an Abbey representative will consider all nominations received and identify up to ten students to receive the award.

Successful candidates can expect to be notified in June/July, and will be asked to indicate which organisation is to benefit from the £1,000 donation made on their behalf. Only successful nominees will be notified.
