The Festival also pays special tribute to late directors Humberto Solás and Sergio Núñez and to the late actor Paul Newman for their exceptional work in cinema. The four days will consist of themed film showings starting at 09.30 daily followed by Panel Discussions at 19.45.

Vanessa Redgrave will be attending the Opening Ceremony at 09.30am.

Wednesday 5 November 2008
Beyond 1968: Dissidence, Cinema and the City
Vanessa Redgrave and David Henn (Photographer) will take part in the Panel Discussion following the showing of The Fever.

Thursday 6 November 2008
Literature and Authors in/on Film
Including the UK premiere of El viajero inmóvil (The Motionless Traveller) which will be introduced by Director Thomás Piard who will also take part in the Panel Discussion.

Friday 7 November 2008
'The Transcultural City, Films and Filmmakers
Ken Loach and Želimir Žilnik will take part in the Panel Discussion.
