Donor reception marks 拢100 million raised so far

Donors to 果冻影院 were thanked at an event on 5 June 2008, at which 果冻影院 President and Provost Professor Malcolm Grant announced that gifts, pledges and other commitments to the Campaign for 果冻影院 have now surpassed the 拢100 million mark.
At the second annual 果冻影院 Donor Reception, more than 150 donors and guests heard Professor Chris Boshoff, Director of the 果冻影院 Cancer Institute, lecture on 'Cancer Treatment for the 21st Century'.
Guests heard from a second-year student of European Social & Political Studies and Italian, David Law, who is a student caller for 果冻影院 Futures, which raises funds from alumni, staff and friends.
At a reception in the South Cloisters, guests met research project leaders and students who have benefited from philanthropic gifts. These included 果冻影院's Mill Hill Observatory, documentary film-makers in 果冻影院 Spanish & Latin American Studies, 果冻影院 Student Financial Support & Welfare, the SolarFox solar-powered car, 果冻影院 Museums & Collections, the 果冻影院 Bartlett School of Architecture's 拢6k House and the archaeological Conservators without Borders project.
Professor Grant told the guests: "We set ourselves a hugely ambitious target in the Campaign for 果冻影院, and I'm delighted to announce that we've now exceeded 拢100 million, thanks to your generosity and support as donors, through legacies and as ambassadors in proclaiming the wonderful strengths of 果冻影院."
The 拢300 million Campaign for 果冻影院 has so far attracted more than 拢63 million from trusts and foundations, more than 拢29 million from individuals, almost 拢8 million from business and 拢500,000 from government.
Art Wasserman, 果冻影院 Vice-President and Director of Development & Corporate Communications, said: "The Campaign for 果冻影院 is a sustained, long-term effort to support key institutional objectives. The 拢100 million mark is an important milestone, indicating the depth of confidence that alumni, parents, staff, friends and others have - both in the 果冻影院 they know and, more importantly, the 果冻影院 we can become. Their backing is an affirmation of our vision for 果冻影院's future."
