Description

This optional module provides students with an opportunity to gain advanced research skills by undertaking a mentored research internship within the Social Research Institute. This module extends previous research methods training in the social sciences in two ways: (a) it will provide a mentored 鈥渞eal world鈥 opportunity to put into practice research skills learned on required methods modules within the context of collaborative research; and (2) it will provide opportunities for students to learn additional and advanced research skills not taught in the required methods modules (e.g., advanced quantitative and/or qualitative analysis techniques, team-based research skills). The module culminates in the production of a research output in the form of a journal article, policy paper, conference paper, or other report of findings.
