Description

This module introduces students to the principles of qualitative methods used in social sciences. It will give them an insight into a variety of data collection methods (e.g. designing questionnaires, conducting interviews, and participant observation) and analytic techniques routinely used by social science researchers and practitioners. On completion, students should be able to appreciate and evaluate the quality of qualitative research they will encounter and begin to understand the principles of creating and implementing effective project plans involving qualitative data collection and analysis.
