Description
The aims of the module are to develop the students’ abilities to understand legal principles and procedures of relevance to planning and real estate professionals, to apply a grasp of such principles to practical problem-solving exercises and to prepare for future planning and development practice.
By the end of the module, students should have acquired skills of (i) ascertaining the legal principles applied to a given professional practice problem, (ii) sourcing and referring to complex planning guidance and law, and attributing appropriate weight to that guidance when balancing material planning considerations, (iii) writing or presenting evidence as part of a mock planning inquiry exercise, and (iv) reflecting on the role of planning and property law in the process of making planning decisions, and within the planning system.
