Description

An extended research project designed for Year 4 MSci Biochemistry students in the Faculty of Life Sciences. A range of project titles will be offered by SMB staff in areas that complement the taught material in the Molecular Biosciences degree programmes. Under supervision, students will carry out original experimental, modelling, bioinformatic or analysis work.

During the academic year,听 the students will work full time in the laboratory. They will give a practice oral presentation in term 2, present a poster at the undergraduate symposium, write a 5000 word paper detailing their experimental findings and then in term 3 they will be assessed by an oral examination (mirroring a PhD viva).
