Providing safe study spaces during the pandemic

The Student Centre team supported students and staff who needed to work on campus throughout the pandemic.
In October 2020, we opened 512 temporary study spaces in Bidborough House, 1-19 Torrington Place and Ramsay Hall to make up for the reduction of spaces on campus due to Coronavirus restrictions. We were able to do this thanks to staff from across 果冻影院 who donated their office space in these buildings. Before they were turned back into offices at the end of Term 3, students and staff made听138,241 bookings.
There were 18,596 total bookings made by 2,490 unique users at Ramsay Hall from 01/08/2020 to 28/06/2021.
There were 46,007 total bookings made by 4,601 unique users at 1-19 Torrington Place from 01/08/2020 to 28/06/2021.
There were 73,638 total bookings made by 5,404 unique users at Bidborough House from 01/08/2020 to 28/06/2021.
The听果冻影院 Student Centre听reopened in June 2020 as part of the university鈥檚 carefully managed pilot for resuming activity on campus. It remained open, with听154,634 bookings听during the same time period. 听
Amad Uddin, who manages the Student Centre team, said:听
鈥�鈥淭he staff have been great and we worked with one another supporting each other closely.鈥�
Feedback from users has been positive. One third year medical student said:
鈥�"Having the Student Centre open has been so useful, especially as many of the other libraries I used to visit are currently closed! I struggle to concentrate in my flat - the Student Centre provides a quiet, distraction free environment to get a couple of hours of work in!鈥�
There were 154,634 听total bookings made by 10,705 unique users in the Student Centre from 01/08/2020 to 28/06/2021.
