Biography

Edward Rose Tunno of Llanganneck [or Llangennech] Park Carmarthenshire [S Wales] granted arms 1824, MP for Bossiney 1826-32; High Sheriff Carmathen 1835. Son of John Tunno, one of Rubinstein's half-millionaires, and son-in-law of Job Matthew Raikes (q.v.), for whom he was executor.

  1. John Tunno himself is shown as owner of a slave-trade voyage in 1787. John Tunno of Devonshire Place died May 15 1819, buried in St John's Wood Chapel, monument by W. Behnes.

  2. Educated at Harrow; married Caroline Raikes 08/10/1825 at St George Hanover Square; living 1851 at Warnford Park with wife Caroline and brother-in-law Frederick Raikes; will of Edward Rose Tunno of 19 Upper Berkeley Street and Warnford Park in the county of Southampton who died 08/03/1863 proved 12/05/1863 by Edward John Sartoris nephew and Frederick Raikes, effects under 拢60,000.

  3. Caroline Raikes was baptised at St Botolph Bishopsgate, daughter of Job Matthew Raikes and Charlotte Susannah, either 18 or 28/03/1802. A Charlotte Sarah Raikes was also baptised at St Botolph Bishopsgate 28[?]/03/1802, again daughter of Job Matthew Raikes and Charlotte Susannah. An asterisk appears to link the two christenings.
